Leicester City and Ipswich Town have both been keen on Brighton & Hove Albion’s Julio Enciso in the winter market.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side and others look to be losing to Ipswich Town in the race to sign the Paraguay international.

On Tuesday, journalist Christian Pérez stated the Brighton player is travelling to complete a loan move to Ipswich Town.

Wednesday’s edition of ABC Color also states Brighton have reached an agreement with Kieran McKenna’s side for Enciso’s loan deal until the end of this season.

The newspaper provides a background of other clubs that have shown interest in the 20-year-old. Leicester are mentioned, along with Borussia Dortmund and Valencia.

ABC Color state Enciso has been handling several options to leave Brighton, and the Foxes have been one of them. Unfortunately for Leicester, they are now set to miss out on the South American to Ipswich Town.

Journalist Christian Pérez took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide a short update. Enciso would have favoured a move to Borussia Dortmund or Atalanta over Ipswich Town, but Brighton didn’t want to send him on loan outside England.

Taking this into account, Leicester City could have secured his services on loan. The Foxes may be disappointed over missing out on this deal.
