Leicester City are now interested in an Argentine youngster, according to claims from South America.
Telam writes that the Foxes have Newell’s Old Boys winger Brian Aguirre ‘on their radar’.
Their story doesn’t bring many details about the chase, just claiming that sources from the Argentine club revealed Leicester City’s interest to LT8 Radio.
Interestingly enough, the news comes right after Newell’s 2-0 win over Central Cordoba on Monday evening, during which Aguirre stood out with a goal.
With no information on how advanced Leicester City’s interest is, it’s a case of waiting until major Argentine outlets come up with new updates.
Featuring for Newell’s, Aguirre has three goals and five assists in 42 appearances so far. The youngster can play on both wings, as well as a striker, and has been part of Argentina’s U-20 squad.
Transfermarkt currently values him at only €4m, but South Americans are often undervalued, so it’s likely his club would demand more for a transfer. Given his recent starts in South American competitions, it’s likely he’d have no problems getting a work permit for the Championship.
