Earlier this week, we saw reports from France revealing Napoli’s chase for Leicester City midfielder Boubakary Soumaré.
It was claimed by Foot Mercato that the Serie A side are ‘very interested’ in the 24-year-old, with their manager Rudi Garcia being ‘crazy about’ the player.
Now it’s time for the Italian media to confirm this pursuit, with Il Mattino featuring a story on the Leicester City midfielder.
It’s claimed that Soumaré ‘can leave’ the Foxes after the relegation, with the club currently demanding €20m for his sale.
Il Mattino adds that Leicester City ‘don’t deny’ the possibility of a loan with a buying option, and that may be good news for Napoli or whoever get interested.
The story says the Serie A champions ‘seem to like’ Soumaré, as his signing was ‘requested’ by Rudi Garcia.
For now, it’s unclear whether Napoli would match Leicester City’s request for the permanent transfer or if they’d rather work for a loan deal.
Soumaré joined the Foxes on a €20m deal from Lille a couple of years ago, and made 59 appearances for the club. He has a contract with them running until 2026.
