Leeds United are keen on Sevilla’s Miguel Sierra and are preparing to make a strong push to bring him to the Premier League.
The winger initially joined the La Liga side’s reserve team in 2024 and made his first team debut last November. He played 58 minutes from five matches last season. However, his situation improved this season as he has two goals and an assist in eight matches.
On October 12th, the Spaniard suffered an injury in his side’s 3-3 draw against Levante UD and has been on the sidelines since. That hasn’t stopped Leeds United from showing interest in the 22-year-old.
Leeds United keen on Miguel Sierra
Miguel Sierra’s rapid rise before the injury blow seems to have caught the attention of a few clubs.
Orgullo Biri have a report focusing on the Whites, and their title says that the Elland Road club are willing to pay €20m to secure his services.
Within the report, they explain that Daniel Farke’s side closely followed him this season. In fact, Leeds United are prepared to make a decisive move and are ‘seriously considering paying’ his €20m release clause.
A potential approach from the English club comes at a delicate period for the Andalusian side.
Injury concern for Leeds United
In April, the attacker signed a new contract until 2029, and that includes a €20m clause. Two months later, as per Transfermarkt, his value was €300k, and it has now jumped to €7m. This indicates the big steps he took in a short time.
Miguel Sierra has the potential to further improve his game, and losing him soon would be a blow sporting wise for Sevilla. On the other hand, a €20m fee would help them improve their difficult financial situation.
There’s another factor, and it’s the player’s injury. The setback forced him to undergo surgery, and he will be out for a while. This would be a concern for Leeds United.
Although the Whites are keen, they are likely to wait until he regains full fitness and see how he performs before making the decisive move.
Besides this, the report makes no mention of whether Sierra is open to joining the Premier League side in an upcoming window.
Leeds United missed out on signing his Sevilla teammate, Andrés Castrín.
