A couple of weeks ago it was reported in Germany that Leeds United had submitted an offer for Dejan Ljubicic.

That offer was worth €4m and wasn’t quite enough to please FC Cologne, who blocked the move at the start. The Whites returning with another bid wasn’t ruled out.

Bild now return with more on the situation and they take a look at what could happen with the player. As far as the German newspaper believe, anything is possible and Leeds United being in the Championship doesn’t count them out of the running.

In order for Cologne to agree to a sale, they would need to receive a ‘mega offer’, although there’s no indication of what that would actually be.

Bild say it’s no secret Ljubicic thinks about a move every now and then. He dreams of ‘big-time football’, and whilst the Championship may not be that it’s pointed out Leeds United have big Premier League plans.

Their Red Bull connections are pushed as a positive, something obviously more of a thing in German football after RB Leipzig’s rise.

One to keep an eye on as the market progresses, but there’s nothing imminent here.
