Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has confirmed he’s yet to try a Yorkshire pudding since his arrival in England last summer. The Swede joined Leeds United from Torino on an initial loan deal, and it was announced earlier this year this has been made permanent.

Speaking to FourFourTwo after being named the 20th best Championship player this season, the 26-year-old was asked about Yorkshire puddings, and also owning a ferret. Jansson confessed he’s yet to try the traditional Sunday dinner accompaniment (not the ferret), but is settling well generally.

However, when asked about owning a ferret the Sweden international was oblivious to what one was, and had never heard of such a thing.

“I haven’t tried it yet. I’m pleased to be here though – England is almost the same as Sweden. It’s easy to live here. A what? What’s that? I never heard of these things,” said the Leeds United star.

Jansson has been one of Leeds United’s standout players this season but in recent weeks he’s found himself out of Garry Monk’s starting eleven. The defender was dropped to the bench in the game against Brighton last month, and was named as a substitute for the game with Reading on Saturday, but he withdrew due to an injury.
