Leeds United’s Junior Firpo has less than a month left on his contract and his future at Elland Road remains uncertain.

On Monday, El Desmarque stated Real Betis want to strengthen the left-back position and the 28-year-old is one of their main targets.

Estadio Deportivo contacted the Leeds player’s entourage to get an update on the La Liga club’s interest.

They have found out from sources close to the left-back that Manuel Pellegrini’s side have made him a formal offer. They converted their interest into a proposal after contacting his entourage in recent days.

According to the Dominican Republic international’s ‘inner circle’, Real Betis are the last to arrive in the race to sign the Leeds defender. He’s already in advanced negotiations with other clubs, including Marseille.

Estadio state the Whites want to keep the fullback and have made a ‘succulent offer’ to renew his contract.

Junior Firpo has better offers on the table and will have to take a pay cut to join Real Betis. He’s still deciding where he’ll play next season and Estadio say ‘there will be news soon’ regarding the player’s future.
