Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and West Ham United are in the picture for Salernitana’s Boulaye Dia, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Serie A side took the 25-year-old from Villarreal on a loan deal with an option to buy. He has managed five goals and two assists from 11 matches.
In the summer, Nottingham Forest, West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur had tested the ground to sign the forward, but they failed to find an agreement with the La Liga side.
Forest and David Moyes’ side remain interested in the Senegal international, and they are now joined by Leeds.
Barring any surprises, Salernitana president Danilo Iervolino will pay €12m to Villarreal to make Dia’s stay permanent next summer.
He then plans put him up for auction, with a hope of earning at least €16-17m from the attacker’s sale. This figure could increase if he were to impress for the rest of this season.
Dia, for his part, dreams of playing in the Premier League, where Nottingham Forest, West Ham and Jesse Marsch’s side are currently his suitors.
Having tried signing the player in the last window, Steve Cooper’s side and West Ham maintain an interest in him, while Leeds are now following Dia. The latter could have to battle with the other two English clubs in order to try to secure Dia’s services.
Gazzetta points out the Premier League trio are likely to face competition from Serie A, but don’t mention details of any Italian clubs in their report.
