Leeds United are competing with Napoli and other clubs to sign Angers’s Azzedine Ounahi in the winter market.
The Serie A side are keen to add the 22-year-old to their squad, but Whites interest has made it difficult for them.
According to Il Mattino, Leeds have ‘surpassed everyone’ to sign the midfielder with a ‘maxi offer’ of €25m, which is better than the €18m proposed by Leicester City.
Luciano Spalletti’s side had their eyes on the Morocco international and he favours joining them this month. However, there is no agreement with the Ligue 1 side, who have moved through intermediaries to raise the valuation of their player.
Angers have succeeded as Jesse Marsch’s side have managed to get ahead of others with a €25m offer.
Napoli have frozen their interest after an auction was triggered in England.
Due to Leeds’ ‘maxi offer’, Napoli are ‘very far away’ from securing Ounahi’s services, and it doesn’t sound like they plan to financially compete with Leeds United. Il Mattino don’t specify whether the Moroccan is in favour of joining the Premier League side in January.
