Leeds United are one of the clubs who ‘stand out’ as potential destinations for Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.
That’s today reported by outlet Il Romanista, who talks about his likely departure from the Nerazzurri next summer.
It’s claimed that Inter Milan are in need of money, and since Calhanoglu’s contract expires next year, that’s a good chance to get rid of his heavy salary and still profit with his sale. That’s why he ‘will be leaving’ them.
But they should actually have more competition for the signing, since it’s said there are ‘various teams’ interested in Calhanoglu, including La Liga sides.
The midfielder has been an important piece for Inter Milan this season, having 36 appearances for the club, and that’s why the Nerazzurri are unlikely to just let him go at any price.
The club managed to sign him for free from AC Milan in 2021, and as he’s now valued by Transfermarkt at €35m, we can see something around that price being demanded in case Leeds and others show up for his signing.
Earlier this month, we saw reports from Italy claiming the Whites could offer €25-30m for the midfielder next summer.
