Dubbed one of the ‘revelations of the Ligue 1 season’ by French newspaper L’Equipe, Romain Faivre has caught the attention of quite a few clubs over the past few months.

The outlet even went as far as naming some of the interested sides, with Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United among them, claiming they had been ‘in the spotlight for several months’.

Nothing has come of it just yet since we’re still slap bang in the middle of the football season, but a figure of around €20m was said to be sufficient to convince Stade Brestois to sell him.

While the European sides might not have moved, there are others elsewhere who are ready to do so, as France Football on Monday revealed Saudi side Al-Hilal have put forward a contract.

It’s said to be a ‘pharaonic’ offer, with Faivre potentially earning a ‘golden bridge’ of €6m/year were he to accept the deal.

This suggests Leeds and co. might need to move quickly if they are to avoid missing out on a 22-year-old up and coming talent, and they have one thing going in their favour.

France Football point out that while he has ‘received nothing concrete from England for now’, it is ‘the football land that makes him dream the most’.

That means that should an offer from the Elland Road side be accepted by Brest down the line, convincing Faivre to join shouldn’t be too difficult.
