Feyenoord manager Arne Slot ‘has a clause in his contract’ that will allow him to join a ‘bigger club’ amid interest from Leeds United.
That’s according to Voetbal International, relayed by Voetbal Primeur, who say that the Dutchman can be secure for a ‘certain amount of money’.
Leeds are on the hunt for a new manager after sacking Jesse Marsch earlier this week following a poor run of form that has left them on the brink of the relegation zone.
Reports in England have made it clear that they’ve drawn up three-man shortlist of options to replace the American, with Slot among them.
He’s led Feyenoord to the top of the Eredivisie this season, something which has not gone unnoticed by clubs around Europe.
That has led to Leeds’ interest and VI now report that they could get him via a ‘clause in his contract’ that would allow him to transfer to a bigger in a bigger league than the Eredivisie for a ‘certain amount of money’. Leeds and the Premier League would certainly fall into that category.
Whether those in charge at Elland Road will take advantage of it remains to be seen, with the same report making it clear that their efforts are currently focused elsewhere.
That can always change, though, and the existence of the clause potentially makes Slot a more realistic option than he was previously.
