On June 22nd, Rodrigo Moreno’s father, Adalberto Machado, who is also his agent, hinted the Leeds United forward would be open to joining Sevilla in the summer window.
Later that month, El Partidazo de COPE stated the La Liga side’s talks for the 32-year-old had broken down. With a year left on his contract, his future is set to be away from Elland Road.
That’s according to Radio Marca, who state Moreno can leave Leeds for free, as long as the club that signs him will take care of his full wages.
This had convinced several Spanish clubs to show interest in the former Valencia man. It’s stated they even approached him to find out his plans for the future. Apart from this, his agent also received interesting offers from unnamed Premier League sides.
Despite this, the report states Moreno will move to Qatar in this window. It’s claimed the player has ‘received an irrefutable offer’ from the Middle East and has ‘decided to accept’ it.
The name of this club isn’t mentioned but Radio Marca say it’s one of the ‘leading teams’ in Qatar. The Leeds player is set to sign a three-year deal with his new club.
