A potential move to Tottenham for Philippe Coutinho is on the front page of Wednesday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo.

The former Liverpool player has struggled for prominence since he moved to Barcelona, and when the transfer initially happened it became obvious the Blaugrana didn’t know what they should do with him.

Excellent in the Premier League, Coutinho was somewhat pushed to the side at Barcelona, and hasn’t been helped by injuries. Given their difficult financial situation, Barca would be open to a sale, or even a loan if it brings some money in.

Mundo Deportivo report the player’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, is ‘moving’ to secure a deal and has been in contact with Tottenham. The newspaper believe Coutinho could be the ‘star’ Spurs sign to replace Harry Kane, although the striker’s situation is likely completely irrelevant to this issue.

Barcelona are open to offers for the Brazilian, whether that be for a loan or a permanent transfer. That gives Tottenham the opportunity to perhaps take Coutinho on a temporary basis with a clause to make the transfer complete next summer.

At Coutinho’s end, the player is said to be determined to get his best form back.
