A couple of days ago we covered claims from Portugal that West Ham are now expected to move for Jota Silva.
Fulham have also been linked with the attacker in recent months, but neither London side have gone through with an effort for the transfer.
Jota Silva’s Vitória de Guimarães contract has less than one year to run, and the Liga Portugal side had been asking interested clubs for something close his €20m release clause.
That hasn’t tempted anyone, probably not because €20m is too much for the player – indeed that sounds like a very fair price – but rather because the contract situation puts Vitória de Guimarães under a lot of pressure.
The West Ham report we covered stated the Hammers are now expected to move after the asking price was brought down to €10-12m. Of course, the same may be true for Fulham.
Vitória de Guimarães are currently preparing for a Conference League qualifier against Malta’s Floriana on Thursday.
Ahead of the game, Jota Silva was asked where his head is at given all the transfer talk. O Jogo quote him as saying: “Clearly, my mind is on Vitória. I don’t predict the future, neither I nor anyone else. I hold on tight to the present, as does the club. You can expect the same spirit of work. My mind is solely and exclusively here at Vitória.”
