Radu Dragusin started for Tottenham in their win over Aston Villa yesterday and it was a rare occurence, considering how the Romanian has been used more often in cup competitions.
Micky van de Ven’s injury meant he got his chance against Villa and it seems Dragusin will be more involved as the season goes on.
Despite that, talk of him returning to Italy refuses to go away.
La Gazzetta dello Sport today state that Juventus find the defender’s situation ‘intriguing’ and a return to the Bianconeri cannot be ‘ruled out’, especially if Juve come calling.
The report points out at the fact that Dragusin still has some admiration in his heart for the club he grew up at and he might find it difficult to turn down a move.
He has ‘very close’ affections to Juve and that can help the Old Lady sign him from Tottenham, who could be open to a loan exit.
It isn’t a simple hypothesis but there remains a possibility that Spurs could end up loaning out Dragusin. A permanent move seems to be out of the question, the report says.
Ange Postecoglou praised the defender a couple of days ago, indicating that they don’t want to move Dragusin on.
At the same time, Juve sporting director Cristiano Guintoli has been quite clear the club will try to sign a centre-back in January. Whether that defender turns out to be the 22-year-old remains to be seen.
