Vincent Janssen is getting very frustrated indeed with his current club AZ. Having returned for his first pre-season training session, Janssen spoke to Dutch newspaper AD and made it absolutely clear that he’d rather be at Tottenham, and believes AZ shouldn’t be holding him back.

Tottenham’s attempts to sign Janssen are no secret, and the player himself has made it very clear that he thinks the Premier League club have offered enough money to AZ to make a transfer happen.

Janssen explained: “I have made my choice known to AZ. Tottenham Hotspur have provided a high bid in my eyes.

“There has been an offer around nearly eighteen million, but AZ would not agree… I want as quickly as possible to be at a new club to start preparing for the new season. This is a frustrating situation for me.

“It’s not that I haven’t had a good time at AZ, not that. I had a fine year here. But the club knows that I want to make the next step in my development.”

Janssen went on to say that he hopes the club now change their stance slightly, and allow him to complete a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur. Claims of interest from PSG appear to have been encouraged to push Tottenham on a transfer fee.
