Josip Ilicic’s name keeps being linked to the Premier League. As the Italian media speculate over his future, three English sides are said to be in the battle for the striker.

TuttoSport have an article today saying AC Milan are interested in the signing, and the Fiorentina board are waiting for calls to see the best option for the player.

The 28-year-old would be reluctant to accept offers from abroad, and he already rejected a bid from the Chinese side Jiangsu Suning.

That’s what would put the three Premier League sides behind in the race. Watford, West Brom and Crystal Palace don’t seem to be a threat for Milan, according to what TuttoSport say.

Ilicic finished the season with 15 goals and 6 assists, and a move to the Premier League has been rumoured for a few months. In April, three other clubs were mentioned by Gazzetta (Leicester, Liverpool and Tottenham).

With so with so many English sides linked to him, it may be confusing why none have taken the plunge with an irresistible bid. Perhaps the interest isn’t quite as strong as suggested.
