Sevilla manager García Pimienta has confirmed that striker Kelechi Iheanacho has offers to leave the Spanish club, with Watford reportedly eyeing up a move for him.
El Desmarque cover comments from the Sevilla boss today made at his press conference ahead of the weekend’s fixtures.
A report earlier today claimed that Watford were circling for Iheanacho, claiming that they had made a proposal for the striker, offering a six-month loan deal to bring him back to Seville.
Iheanacho has been linked with a move away from the Spanish side for several months after a disastrous time in La Liga so far.
He joined Sevilla on a free transfer in the summer after leaving Leicester City but has barely featured since that point, with questions over his fitness consistently raised in Spain as he’s missed games.
His agents are believed to be seeking a move for him in the January transfer window and Watford are ready to offer him a return to England and the Championship.
Pimienta did not confirm them to be one of the interested parties, but did admit that the Nigerian striker has offers on the table to leave this month.
“The only thing I can say about Kelechi Iheanacho is that he has come with some discomfort,” he said.
“It is true that he has offers from other clubs, it is not a serious injury, he is not going to train today, and he will not come tomorrow. We know that he has offers, I don’t know if will end up closing.
“We hold constant meetings; we have been doing the analysis during all these months. There are situations that we do not control, such as offers for players that we did not expect, so we are working on what we know.”
