Derby County goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterström has spoken to the Swedish press about signing for the Championship side during the last window.

The 26-year-old arrived at Pride Park this summer after five seasons with Djurgårdens IF.

Expressen have reported on comments Widell Zetterström made in a press conference ahead of Sweden’s Nations League clash with Azerbaijan this evening.

The Derby County player was asked about his first thoughts on his move to England and how have the fans taken to him.

“It’s a club with an incredible commitment. Even when they played one division below, there were 30,000 in place. You notice incredible support and it’s easy to pass it on when a new person comes in. I feel incredibly welcomed by both the staff, the leaders and players but also fans. It feels incredible to be here,” said the Derby County keeper.

With Aston Villa’s Robin Olsen ruled out with injury there could be an opportunity for Widell Zetterström to start the game tonight.

Sweden manager Jon Dahl Tomasson has revealed all three keepers in his current squad have an equal chance to replace Olsen during this international break and this could give Widell Zetterström an opportunity to add to his one cap.

The Derby County man made his international debut last year during a friendly against Iceland.
