Ismaïla Sarr could be set to leave Marseille just a year after arriving at the French club from Watford.
Sarr had been with Watford since 2019 and left for Ligue 1 with ambitions to do well. Five goals and six assists wasn’t a disaster of a first season, but he’s of interest to Crystal Palace and FootMercato believe a sale is possible.
They report Crystal Palace have already made their first offer for the attacker. That offer was made to the player’s camp and has been met with a counter-proposal, which presumably means the Eagles have been asked to pay more in salary or agent commissions.
Talks are also taking place between Crystal Palace and Marseille, although there’s not much information in that regard and there’s no mention of a potential transfer fee.
FootMercato say the player is ‘excited’ about a return to English football following his time with Watford, and it looks like this information is being shared with the French media by Sarr’s entourage.
It’s far from being in the final stages, but certainly a transfer which could develop quickly.
