Tottenham youngster Djed Spence has insisted he is happy with life at Genoa, even if injuries have stopped him making as big an impact as he’d hoped.
The full-back has been speaking to Tuttosport about his current loan spell at the Italian side, who he joined in the January transfer window.
He returned to Tottenham at the beginning of January from a loan deal at Leeds United, which had not worked out as he had intended after he had previously returned to Tottenham in the summer from a six-month deal at Stade Rennais.
Spence quickly found himself being included in the deal that saw Radu Dragusin move to Tottenham, going the opposite way in a loan deal until the end of the season.
He’s impressed when he’s been on the pitch and earned positive reviews from Genoa fans, and insists he is happy with how things are going, even if it’s not been as smooth a ride as he or Tottenham would like.
“Above all, injuries have held me back,” he told the newspaper.
“When you stop it takes time to recover, but now I’m growing and step by step I can get to the highest level. But above all I feel good now.
“I have to say that I’ve settled in very well and I’m having fun here. In the locker room my teammates helped me settle in very quickly and this also came from the staff. I’m very happy.”
