Sevilla defender Loïc Badé has insisted he’s not particularly interested in a return to the Premier League, even if Tottenham are looking at him.

The defender has been speaking to Estadio Deportivo about his current situation after claims Tottenham were interested in a deal in January.

The Frenchman has been impressing for the Spanish side since joining them on loan from Stade Rennais in January last year.

He had spent the first half of that season at Nottingham Forest but found himself out of the picture at the club, failing to make a single appearance under Steve Cooper.

That led his loan deal to be cancelled by Rennes and Sevilla quickly stepped in to sign him on loan until the end of the season, before making the move a permanent one for €12m in the summer.

He’s been a key player for them since arriving on loan and earned himself a growing reputation thanks to some impressive performances.

That saw him linked with a move to Tottenham last month, with the player admitting yesterday that he was flattered to read such reports.

He, though, isn’t particularly interested in a return to the Premier League after his time at Nottingham Forest and made that clear when asked about the Tottenham interest.

“(It’s) normal. I try to work, and I try to concentrate on the games. Then it’s football, sometimes there are teams that are interested, but we work,” he said.

“No, no. Better here, I’m very happy,” he added when asked if he’d return to England.
