AC Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders has spent the beginning of this week being more strongly linked with a move to Manchester City.
More is now arriving from the Italian media, with Corriere dello Sport stating Pep Guardiola has the Dutchman on his shortlist for next season.
The Spaniard sees the Netherlands international as the ‘ideal reinforcement’ for the Manchester City midfield and he’s been described as the ‘best in Europe in his role’, with his goals this season clearly impressing the local media.
While contacts between the two clubs are yet to be registered, things can start moving soon.
The report states Manchester City are yet to speak to Reijnders’ entourage, but Guardiola’s side will start considering a move in the next few weeks.
Reijnders signed a new contract at the San Siro some weeks ago, but it is now simply proving to be a way for them to earn a higher fee from the midfielder’s sale.
Manchester City are said to be studying what the right offer would be, and it’s expected they’d offer more than €70m, which feels on the high side as an initial bid.
At the Rossoneri, no player is unsellable and if the right offers arrive, Milan will be happy to move their most important stars on in the summer.
