On Tuesday evening, claims came through from the Italian media that Celtic have paused Gustaf Lagerbielke’s move to Lecce.

Everything was thought to have been agreed between the two clubs for the defender to move before the window closes, with Celtic and Lecce even said to be at the stage of exchanging documents to finalise the deal.

However, Celtic were said to have paused the move, with a little concern over injury cover for Brendan Rodgers’ squad for the rest of the season.

Those reports made it clear that Lagerbielke was still keen on the move to Serie A, and was therefore pushing Celtic to let the transfer happen.

Now TMW have published an exclusive with what they say are quotes from the man himself.

According to TMW, Lagerbielke said: “Lecce have shown a very strong interest in me. I want to go, play and make a difference.”

It’s also stated that it’s the player’s dream to move to Serie A, a dream he’s held since he was a child, and he’s obviously keen for the move to happen.
