Manchester United links with Erling Braut Håland are getting rather more serious and, unusually, the claims are coming from Italy.
A couple of days ago Corriere dello Sport had a big article covering interest from Serie A in the Red Bull Salzburg striker. However, the newspaper made it clear that the interest was likely in vain because, according to their information, he’s on the verge of a move to Manchester United.
The Ole Gunnar Solskjaer connection is encouraging stories, given the manager had Håland at Molde and the two built up a strong relationship.
Håland hasn’t been shy when it comes to talking about that publicly so it makes sense it could be a factor in a potential move to Old Trafford next summer.
This weekend, Italian newspaper Il Mattino spoke to Loris Boni, who works spotting talents in Scandinavia. More of the chat about Håland was Serie A related, how Juventus had missed out on the footballer earlier in his career.
When asked where the player will end up, he said: “Definitely in a great club. Salzburg, an excellent team, can only be a springboard for someone like him. If, then, his compatriot Solskjaer remains as coach at Manchester United, I think he can go there. Solskjaer was also the one who made him debut at Molde, as he coached the club at the time.”
For those fans of the Premier League club who would welcome this signing, the building claims will be welcome.
