New Brighton and Hove Albion signing Facundo Buonanotte has revealed his excitement at the future ahead after finally linking up with his new club.
The Argentine youngster completed a move to Brighton in November after months of speculation about a potential transfer.
The Seagulls were keen on him in the summer transfer window and pushed for a deal to take place before fan protests at Rosario Central stopped them from selling him.
That did not put off Brighton and they continued to push to get him, eventually sealing a deal worth $11.5m to bring him to England.
He has had to wait until this month to finally make the move, linking up with his new team this week and sharing his excitement at what lies ahead.
“I am very happy, very excited and eager to start training,” he told Ovación, relayed by La Capital, during a photo shoot at Brighton.
They explain that Buonanotte arrived at the Premier League club today for presentation photos and was scheduled to meet his new teammates afterwards.
However, it seems he is set for a quick departure, with one of his representatives, Nico San Juan, who will accompany him during his short stay in England explaining that he “will train this Friday and will do so for about ten days. After that he will travel directly to Colombia to play in the South American U20 Championship.”
