Leeds United forward Crysencio Summerville has admitted he still gets goosebumps when he remembers his winning goal against Liverpool earlier in the season.

The forward recently sat down for an interview with Voetbalzone to discuss being a part of the Dutch Juniors squad during this international break and his time at Leeds so far.

He’s been with Leeds since a move from Feyenoord in 2020 but has really shone this season, featuring in 20 Premier League games to date and 42% of the available minutes in the league.

He’s also managed to be a regular goal threat, bagging four and assisting two in the games he’s played in so far.

Those four goals came earlier in the season, when he bagged them in four consecutive games, scoring against Fulham, Liverpool, Bournemouth and Tottenham.

The most notable of those strikes came in the clash with Jurgen Klopp’s side, when he netted the winning goal in the 90th minute at Anfield.

That was a strike that lives long in the memory and Summerville admits himself that he still gets goosebumps from that moment.

“I get goosebumps every time I see that goal,” he said.

“I scored the goal a few hours before my 21st birthday, which made it extra special. I don’t know if I can get myself such a nice birthday present again anytime soon. Unforgettable. I think when I’m a grandpa, I’ll still look back on that.

He was also asked about his feeling about being handed the ‘beautiful’ number 10 shirt when Raphinha was sold.

“The club management told me that there is a lot of confidence in my qualities. I have that confidence myself, but those words from the club were reinforced by giving that number.

“I think it is a great honour that I can play with number 10 at such a great folk club at my age.”
