Fabio Silva clearly doesn’t mind showing his lack of affection for Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Portuguese newspaper O Jogo today covers an interview he gave to the Spanish media. There, he made it clear he’s not heading back to Wolves this summer.

“It’s no secret that I don’t want to stay at Wolverhampton. We both agree, now we have to try to find the best situation for both of us to be happy.”

One of the reasons Silva isn’t even considering a return to Wolves is that the club loaned him out repeatedly in the past few seasons.

Signed by the Molineux side in a €40m deal from Porto in 2020, he spent the past couple of years on spells at RSC Anderlecht, PSV and Rangers.

Silva clearly doesn’t like the situation, but claims he managed to take special lessons from those loans, especially in his last season with the Scottish side.

“It’s not good to change countries all the time. Rangers made me more complete, I played in a different position, I scored goals, I felt good…. Before I only played as a nine, now I can play in all the attacking positions,” said Fabio Silva.

Regarding his future, the attacker says he’d like to move to La Liga, even though it’s not yet clear whether there are any clubs there interested in his signing.

“I’ve already told my agent: I want to play in Spain. I’m telling the truth, it’s the destination I’d like to have. I like the culture, the country, La Liga football. I think my style fits in very well with the Spanish style.”

Silva’s contract with Wolves only expires in 2026, so they’ll be expecting a reasonable transfer fee.
