Stuttgart defender Konstantinos Mavropanos has refused to be drawn on claims of Nottingham Forest chasing his signature, but admits his future is in the air.
The Greek defender has sat down for a conversation with BILD about his season so far and where he may end up in the summer.
Several reports have indicated that Mavropanos is ready to move on from Stuttgart at the end of the season, with several sides, including Italian champions Napoli, thought to be eyeing up a potential move.
He’s also been linked with a return to the Premier League, where Nottingham Forest have been named among his suitors on more than one occasion.
They’re likely to be active in the transfer window again this summer if they manage to stay in the Premier League, with the defence having been something of a weak point for Steve Cooper’s side this season.
Mavropanos could be an ideal addition and that led BILD to ask him whether he’ll end up at ‘Frankfurt, Naples or Nottingham Forest’ this summer.
“These rumours do not interest me. At the moment my focus is on the last two games so that VfB stays in the Bundesliga. That is my goal,” he said.
“I can’t make any promises because sometimes things in football can change from one day to the next. But what I can say is that I feel at home at VfB and really enjoy my time here.
Asked whether the Premier League is his goal, he said: “As far as the league goes, I have no preference. I want to play internationally with my team at some point. This is the best level to keep improving.”
