On Monday morning, Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport claimed Chelsea could have an ace in their sleeve to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli.
It was claimed that the Blues could offer the inclusion of Romelu Lukaku in the deal, and therefore get a discount for the Nigerian star.
This was a big story with a lot of comments from the Italian media, and Kiss Kiss Napoli now brings some comments from Carlo Jacomuzzi.
The former club chief first talked about Chelsea possibly going for Osimhen in the summer.
“At Chelsea anything can happen this summer. I wouldn’t be surprised if Napoli get the clause for Osimhen. At the moment the Chelsea coach has not yet been chosen, but from the point of view of money at Chelsea they have no problem.”
Jacomuzzi then said that Napoli shouldn’t try to get Lukaku in the deal, but another attacker instead.
“Lukaku as a quid pro quo? I would ask them for Mudryk in exchange for Osimhen.”
While Chelsea look for a new centre-forward in the summer, it must indeed be recalled that Lukaku still has a contract with the club running until 2026.
Roma seem happy with the 20 goals he’s scored for the club this season, but it remains to be seen if the Giallorossi will manage to find a deal with the Blues for the permanent transfer. That’s why he may be included in a potential deal with Napoli, although they might be more interested in other players.
