At the end of the last week, the Portuguese media hinted that West Ham United could still get a chance at signing Ruben Amorim from Sporting.

Newspaper Record came up with a story saying that chase was not completely dead, despite the complete failure in the first talks held with the manager.

It turns out that as Sporting now won the league title and the local media makes big coverage of it, the very same newspaper Record show that Amorim’s stance doesn’t sound exciting for West Ham.

Speaking at the party last night, the coach made it clear that his wish is to stay with the Lions, and he’s looking forward to trying to win another trophy with the club.

“I’m staying, I have a contract with Sporting. It’s special. The first was atypical, with no public and no European competitions. This time, it had all that, and we did it! Now it’s time to try for the third.”

Ruben Amorim had already claimed he regretted having met West Ham, and now promises to stay at Sporting for longer. It seems he’s pretty sure of what he’s saying, and any new conversation he has with the Premier League club would certainly harm the very good reputation he has at the Lisbon side, where he’s now a legend.
