Brighton & Hove Albion’s Simon Adingra is interested in making a switch to Ligue 1 in the summer window, according to Foot Sur 7.

The winger featured regularly under Roberto De Zerbi but lost his place in starting lineup under Fabian Hürzeler.

To put it in context, he played 2,853 minutes from 40 games for Brighton last season. De Zerbi left the Seagulls for Marseille and was replaced by Hürzeler  at The Amex.

The Ivory Coast international played over 1,000 minutes from 26 games, which includes seven league starts, this season. Hürzeler’s decisions have convinced him to leave, and he’s interested in a loan move to Ligue 1. FC Nantes could benefit from this.

Marseille looked at the Brighton player when Jean-Louis Gasset was in charge [between February to June 2024] and made contact.

The Ivory Coast government have a partnership with Marseille and wanted Adingra to join them to help promote tourism in the country. The French club didn’t make progress and haven’t returned for him even after De Zerbi’s arrival.

Nantes could be a credible option in France for the 23-year-old and can offer him more game time.

Although their finances could make a potential operation complicated, the outlet states Nantes are tempted to sign Adingra.

His contract lasts until 2026 and without a renewal, it’s unclear whether Brighton would sanction a loan move.
