After a disappointing eighth place finish last season, Tottenham Hotspur have transformed following Ange Postecoglou’s arrival in the summer.
On Monday, Spurs sealed a win over Fulham and the result has helped them not only extend their unbeaten run in the league but also reclaim top spot in the Premier League table.
Tottenham have 23 points from nine games, two points ahead of Manchester City and Liverpool, who are second and third respectively. Summer signing James Maddison has already urged Spurs fans to talk about their chances of winning the title this season.
He’s joined by Dejan Kulusevski, who told Radiosporten, relayed by Fotbollskanalen, that Postecoglou’s side have an opportunity to achieve success this season. The 23-year-old forward has also explained how his side can improve their chances of finishing the season on top.
“Absolutely, as long as we work hard for each other and are humble, fight and respect each other, we’ll see how it goes,” he said.
Tottenham’s local rivals Arsenal led the league table for most of last season but lost out to eventual winners Manchester City in the end.
The Sweden international is aware that Pep Guardiola’s side are the favourites to retain the title but insists Spurs are ready to challenge the Citizens this season.
“Yes absolutely. We are there right now and the idea is that we should continue like this,” Kulusevski added.
The former Juventus man has scored two goals from nine league games this season.
