Since it was reported that Carlos Miguel is leaving Corinthians for Nottingham Forest, there’s been some anger about his decision.
The Brazilian club had just sold their legend Cássio to give the younger goalkeeper a chance, and now that he settled himself in the position, he chose to walk away to the City Ground.
There’s now some doubt whether Carlos Miguel will play for Corinthians until July, when Nottingham Forest are expected to make the signing official. And on CNN, journalist Benjamin Back has something to say about that.
The pundit claims he’s completely against lining him up in the upcoming games, as since he decided to leave the club, he shouldn’t have the chance to wear their kit again.
“To hell with this guy. Go to hell. He’ll want to play, ‘I’ll play until the last day’, no need. It’s logical. He doesn’t have to.
“Corinthians have to react and somehow show the players who they are at Corinthians: ‘Look, Corinthians are still there, Carlos Miguel has left, a hug to him and wish him happiness there’. Otherwise, if Corinthians is too much, ‘Oh, Carlos Miguel, for God’s sake, play another month here’, what will the other players think?”
Reports from Brazil claim that Nottingham Forest are triggering Carlos Miguel’s release clause, which stands at €4m.
The Reds were said to be fighting against West Ham for the signing, and it’s been reported that a chance to be a regular starter is what the attracted the player to the City Ground, with him turning down the Hammers’ offer.
