Despite all the stories the Brazilian media released in the past few days saying Fulham are making a January attempt to sign Pablo Maia from São Paulo, no numbers had been mentioned so far.

Some articles even claimed the Whites’ bid was already placed, with others disagreeing with that, but none of them said how much the Premier League club want to pay or what the asking price is.

So as journalist Jorge Nicola now comes up with an update on this situation, for the first time we see the numbers involved in the operation.

It’s said Fulham were willing to pay between €6m and €7m for the signing. The problem is those figures should not be enough to convince São Paulo, who demand at least €10m for the sale.

According to Nicola, those who ‘take care of the operation’ guarantee that the Craven Cottage side have enough financial power to raise their bid. The Tricolor, meanwhile, will wait and see if a convincing offer arrives.

It’s said unless Fulham reach a number around €10m, there’ll be ‘no agreement’. Besides the Whites, Nottingham Forest are also monitoring the player, as previously reported.
