Fulham would need to make ‘bizarre bids’ to PSV Eindhoven if they were to get Ricardo Pepi this summer.
That’s according to journalist Rik Elfrink, who reports that Fulham face a battle to get the 22-year-old out of Eindhoven.
Reports in the UK have stated that Pepi is a target for Fulham this summer as they look to bolster Marco Silva’s squad. That quickly picked up traction, but it seems in the Netherlands they’re having none of it.
Elfrink reports that Pepi recently extended his PSV contract until 2030 and that means PSV have no interest in cooperating in a departure. That would only change if there were ‘bizarre bids’ for the player.
He states that, at the moment, there are clubs that would like to pay €25-30m. But that does not seem to be enough for PSV. He doesn’t make it clear whether Fulham are one of those sides at this moment in time.
There is also the matter of Pepi’s fitness. He is not set to be fit until mid-July. Therefore, it would be surprising to see moves happening now given he’d have to pass a medical when not fit.
PSV aren’t interested in selling the striker regardless, unless Fulham or others start making bizarre bids for him.
