Fulham are competing with Borussia Mönchengladbach for the signing of Royal Union Saint-Gilloise midfielder Cameron Puertas.

That’s according to Fussball Transfers, who say that all signs are pointing towards Puertas leaving the Belgian side this summer.

They report that Mönchengladbach are ‘going all out’ for the 25-year-old, with the ‘courting’ around him entering the hot phase.

The creative midfielder is on the list of several clubs, with Gladbach keen but Fulham also having taken an interest in him.

The German side are the first to have put their foot on the gas in that regard and are now taking concrete steps towards a deal. Indeed, there is a belief he has already received an offer from the club and a €15m transfer fee is being discussed.

Fulham are also ‘trying hard’ to sign the player, though, and the boost for them is that the €15m asking price would be considered too high for Gladbach at this moment in time.

They have money to spend this summer after selling Joao Palhinha while €15m is not usually a difficult figure for any Premier League side to match.

Marco Silva’s side may now want to step up their efforts for the player, who managed 23 assists in 56 games for Union SG last season and scored 14 goals himself.

Those are impressive numbers, to say the least, and it seems Fulham are very much in the mix as the battle for his signature now begins to heat up.
