As reported earlier on on Thursday, West Ham appeared to have reached an agreement with Lyon for the transfer of Saïd Benrahma, with the latter even booking a plane to bring him to France.
The problem is, Fulham have now joined the race, as Foot Mercato have an article on the Craven Cottage side’s last ditch attempt to sign the Algeria international.
While Lyon had come to an agreement regarding a loan with an option to buy, and a medical was already being organised for the West Ham player, they now have to make do with Fulham trying to ruin the party.
Foot Mercato explain the Craven Cottage residents are ‘pushing’ to sign the winger, and they are ‘determined to sign’ him before the end of the transfer window.
Lyon have ‘done everything’ they can to convince Benrahma to pick them, but this late addition from Fulham could change the entire operation.
Whether Marco Silva and those above manage to convince West Ham to let the player simply switch clubs in London remains to be seen, but they certainly are being a pain in the backside as far as the Ligue 1 side are concerned.
