Raúl Jiménez arrived at Fulham from Wolverhampton Wanderers in July 2023 and signed a contract until 2026.

The Mexico international scored seven goals in his first season at Fulham and has starred for them this season, managing 11 goals and three assists from 30 games so far.

Jiménez’s future at Fulham needs to be sorted out as his contract expires in the summer.

Earlier this month, we covered claims from Mexico that the striker hasn’t heard from Marco Silva’s side over a renewal. It was also pointed out the Premier League club have an option to extend his contract until 2026.

The 33-year-old has given an interview to TNT Sports Mexico, and they asked him about his contract situation at Fulham. Telemundo have relayed his comments.

“It’s an idea, in the end my contract runs out in the summer, let’s see what is decided. At the moment there is nothing, but we have to wait until the last day and see,” he said.

“My idea is to continue here for as long as possible, whether [if] it’s here at Fulham, where I’m very happy, it would be something incredible.”

This indicates the London club haven’t made a decision so far on whether to exercise the option to extend his contract by a year or offer him fresh terms.

Fulham are ninth in the table, two points behind sixth placed Newcastle United and four behind fifth placed Chelsea. The former Wolves man told the Mexican media Marco Silva’s side are aiming to qualify for Europe next season.

“We are looking high with very clear goals that what we want, we seek to finish as high as possible and sneak into any European competition,” Jiménez explained.
