Fulham striker Raúl Jiménez has ‘expressed his desire’ to return to Mexico, with Club América looking into a potential deal for him.
That’s according to ESPN Mexico and journalist Rubén Rodríguez, who can very much see the Fulham man making a return to his homeland.
A report last week indicated that América were looking into a potential deal for Jiménez as current striker Henry Martín is set to be a free agent in the summer, having failed to commit to a new deal at the club despite their efforts.
His departure would leave a huge hole in the side that would need to be filled and it was reported that they were looking at the possibility of bringing Jiménez back to the club where he started his career.
That subject was part of the discussion on show La Última Palabra this week where they discussed the possibility of Jiménez returning and if the Fulham man would be a viable target for the Mexican side at this point.
According to the assembled journalists, he is, as he’s ‘expressed his desire’ to return to América already, something Rubén Rodríguez believes opens the door to a transfer.
“I don’t know what Raúl Jiménez wants… he is going to return at some point,” he said.
“I see Raúl playing in Mexico for 1 or 2 years (…) I’m not telling you that because Raúl returns, Henry leaves.”
