Flamengo consider Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira as ‘too expensive’ and have no interest in him this summer.

That’s according to journalist Fabrício Lopes via Bolavip, who insists that the reports around the midfielder are very wide of the mark.

He covers reports from this week insisting Pereira is on Flamengo’s radar, with it even suggested that they could a clause they hold on to Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz to try and negotiate a deal for him.

They made it clear that Pereira wants to leave Craven Cottage, with tallies with numerous reports over the last months stating the same.

Lopes has thrown cold water on the idea, though, insisting that the €20m clause for the midfielder is ‘unrealistic’.

“There was no meeting within Flamengo to sign Andreas Pereira. Fla considers Rodrigo Muniz to have great potential and does not intend to use him to close this signing,” he is quoted as saying on his YouTube channel.

“Flamengo is not currently considering agreeing on a value to bring Andreas Pereira. The values are too high, and Fla does not look favourably on the signing.”

Bolavip then add that a transfer is only likely to happen if Fulham were to release the midfielder or sanction a loan deal. The idea of that happening is considered ‘very remote’, though.

That would be because Fulham have no need to do either given Pereira has a contract until 2026 and have an option to extend it by another year anyway.

In other words, there’s no need for them to get involved in any negotiations with Flamengo or do them a favour, pouring further cold water on the idea that they’re trying to push in Brazil.
