The German media, and specifically Bild newspaper, continue to report on RB Leipzig’s search for a new manager.

As part of those reports, it’s repeatedly stated that Oliver Glasner has been a priority candidate but getting him away from Crystal Palace won’t be so easy.

Thursday’s edition of the German newspaper reports Glasner is the favourite to take over from Marco Rose. They state that contrary to other reports, the Crystal Palace manager doesn’t have a release clause in his Eagles contract.

To let him move, it’s claimed the London club would be asking for €20m.

That isn’t the only sticking point, and probably not even the major one. Bild finally concede – after sources close to Glasner told the Austrian midfielder this stance last week – that the manager isn’t convinced at all about leaving the Premier League.

Indeed, it’s even accepted he wants to stay in England’s top flight, and there’s been interest from Tottenham Hotspur. It isn’t even a case of Spurs or RB Leipzig, with the distinct possibility he could stay where he is.

Nevertheless, the German media don’t appear ready to fully give up hope.
