Celtic are apparently working on improving their attack in the winter market to provide Brendan Rodgers better options for the second half of the season.

The Scottish Premiership champions have already been linked to a few forwards and the list includes BK Häcken’s Zeidane Inoussa.

On January 16th, we covered claims from France which stated Celtic are in the running to sign the 22-year-old, along with Saint-Étienne. Later that day, Expressen in Sweden reported Brendan Rodgers’ side are considering making an offer for Inoussa.

With claims of interest from Celtic and Saint-Étienne, Fotbollskanalen got in touch with the forward and specifically asked him about these two clubs. When responding to that, the Häcken player revealed he’s aware of interest from Celtic and the French club.

“I’ve heard a bit about it from my agent. They have checked the situation a bit and shown interest, but I have not heard more than that,” he said.

The Swede has explained he has already held talks with Häcken over a potential exit in this window and will only consider a move if it’s beneficial for both parties.

“We’ll see what happens. If we both feel that it is extremely good for both parties, then why not. But if it’s not good for either of us, it probably won’t happen. We’ve talked about it a bit,” Inoussa explained.

“I think most of the players in the Allsvenskan are keen to go abroad. It’s probably almost everyone’s dream, and mine too. I’m open to a move if it would suit both me and Häcken.”

When asked about his dream move, he said: “My dream is to play in top five leagues, like the Premier League, of course.

“It may be difficult to get there if you are in the Allsvenskan for 10 years. At some point you have to move on then. But we’ll see if that happens now, this summer or next winter. It’s difficult to say.”

Luckily for Celtic and Saint-Étienne, there’s been no interest from the Premier League for Inoussa.
