Sheffield United forward Iliman Ndiaye has turned down Everton’s offer to join them before the end of the transfer window.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who say the Blues bid for him, worth €23m, has been rejected by the player.
They explain that Ndiaye was discovered by the public during the World Cup, when he featured for Senegal.
That has seen him become ‘one of the attractions’ of the English market this month and he has been the ‘subject’ of a bid from Everton.
They offered Sheffield United €23m for the striker, who has ten goals and eight assists to his name this season, but the offer was rejected by the player.
He intends to stay with Sheffield United until the end of the season, perhaps preferring to see if the Blades are promoted to the Premier League, given they are second in the table at present, than face a relegation battle with Everton.
Whether Everton can convince him otherwise remains to be seen, but at the minute it appears he is not keen on a move to Goodison Park.
