Ajax are increasingly confident they made the right decision in rejecting Everton’s late efforts for Mohammed Kudus.
That’s according to De Telegraaf, who say ‘so far, they have been proved right’ in keeping Kudus at the Amsterdam ArenA.
Kudus was a late target for Everton, with the player going as far as to refuse to train towards the end of the window in an attempt to force through a move to Goodison Park.
That never happened and it’s worked out well for Ajax so far, with the player establishing himself as the next potential star under Alfred Schreuder.
He’s been in fine form and continued that last night, bagging the equaliser against Liverpool with a thumping finish past Alisson.
De Telegraaf cover the situation today and say Kudus appears to be the ‘latest gem’ and Ajax ‘blocked the deal’ with Everton as they believe the midfielder will make a significant contribution this season and thus see his value ‘increase significantly.’
‘So far, they have been proved right’ in that belief, as he was outstanding in the 4-0 win over Rangers and his strike against Liverpool was a further sign of his quality.
That’s probably all bad news for Everton, whose chances of getting Kudus further down the line appear to be getting slimmer by the day.
