As Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo today shares a headline about Newcastle United’s interest in Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen, that only seemed like another story in the rumour mill.
Recent reports from England have been talking about the Magpies watching the centre-back, and without having any of their own information about it, the Spanish outlet covers that.
It turns out that Mundo Deportivo has something to add, and that’s the possibility of Newcastle thinking about including Bruno Guimarães in a deal for Christensen.
The reason for that is an old rumour, from last year, when it was reported that the Magpies could include their star – plus cash – in an offer for Raphinha.
Even though that was not a big thing back then, that was enough for Mundo Deportivo to dream about that now, claiming that same could happen with Christensen, despite how unlikely that sounds.
Bruno Guimarães’ departure from Newcastle this summer is a rumour because of the Magpies’ need to be fine with the Financial Fair Play. It’s quite hard to imagine letting him go in a random swap, especially with the incoming player valued by Transfermarkt at just €40m.
