Everton fans were surely caught by surprise this week when James Rodriguez teased about a return to the club.
When a fan Instagram account pointed out the player is having a hard time at São Paulo, the midfielder left a comment asking about a potential ‘last dance’ with the Toffees.
That created some big noise in the Brazilian media, and journalist Jorge Nicola now shares a video to talk about the situation.
The reporter explains that despite the little chaos created by James, there’s actually ‘no chance’ he’s returning to Everton anytime soon.
It’s said that the Toffees do not have any interest in bringing him back to the club. And despite the midfielder’s wish of a comeback, he doesn’t have the physical condition to be in the Premier League.
We must say we agree with Nicola, because James’ situation at São Paulo has been pretty tough. Websites like Transfermarkt may say he’s missing games due to a muscle injury, but the truth is that his absence has to do with his struggles to be in shape.
It doesn’t even have to be said that the Brazilian league is far less physical than the Premier League, so the midfielder would clearly have huge difficulties playing in England again. São Paulo would surely gift him to Everton in case they were interested, but that’s unlikely to be the case.
