Although Everton and Paris Saint Germain continue to chase the Brazilian star David Neres, his club Ajax are now reportedly trying to hold him for longer.
It’s Globo Esporte who brings the news today, claiming the Dutch side are planning to keep the player for one more season, and only then sell him abroad.
The idea would be to give him a pay rise, and include a clause in his contract for a transfer in 2020 , for an amount less than his release clause.
However, despite Ajax’s wishes, Globo Esporte claims that it’s still likely Neres could move this summer, since clubs are coming strong for him.
Apart from reporting Everton’s and PSG’s interest in Neres, Globo Esporte doesn’t really have a lot more to say.
Actually, they claim that the French side could be landing De Ligt for €70m. That has an impact on the Brazilian’s future, since the amount could allow Ajax to wait for a year before selling another star.
Now it should all depend on how convincing the bids for Neres will be this summer.
