Everton, Newcastle United and Leeds United are among a host of European clubs competing with the elite for Club Brugge star Nicolò Tresoldi.

Tresoldi has been earning rave reviews for his performances this season, bagging nine goals in 122 games in all competitions.

Four of those goals have come in two games in the Champions League, with the 22-year-old recently bagging a hat-trick in the 4-3 win over Inter Milan.

The youngster is one of the rising stars of European football, after managing 32 goals and nine assists in 70 games for Brugge since joining from Hannover 96 last summer.

He also has 16 goals in 27 games for Germany’s U21’s and appears destined for Jurgen Klopp’s first team before too long.

Europe’s elite circling

Europe’s elite are already circling. Indeed, Sport Witness reported last week how Arsenal are among the frontrunners for his signature.

But they are not the only Premier League sides in the mix. Het Laatste Niuews report that Everton, Newcastle and Leeds are in the mix as well.

In fact, they are set to send scouts on Wednesday to watch Brugge take on RC Lens in the Champions League.

They first name the elite clubs that will be in attendance for the game. They are Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Chelsea.

And the rest

Alongside them though, there will also be Everton, Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace, Leeds United, Bournemouth, West Ham and Aston Villa.

The newspaper insists that it’s common for international scouts to travel to the Jan Breydel Stadium. So that long list is nothing special in that particular context.

But the contingent gathering for Tresoldi ‘can certainly be described as impressive’. He is earning admirers all around Europe and now they want to see him in action.

And it seems even those below the elite level believe that they might have a chance of securing his signature.
